Leapfrog takes up residence in one of South Africa’s premiere suburbs
Posted: 17th May 2010
The Leapfrog Property Group is furthering expansion of its national ‘footprint’, opening a new Leapfrog Camps Bay franchise with Jacques Pretorius and Cathryn New as principals. Both these seasoned property professionals bring a powerhouse of expert real estate knowledge and property expertise to prospective buyers and sellers in the Western Cape.

The group now has 51 successful offices to its name and has attracted almost 400 top agents since its launch in June 2007. Leapfrog continues to outperform market challenges, with growth in 2009 achieving a turnover of almost R3 billion in arguably the worst property market year in South Africa’s history. Not only is Leapfrog Property Group South Africa’s youngest property business, but also the one that set the industry benchmark by being the first empowered, national real estate franchise group.

“Camps Bay is a well established and sought after seaside community that comprises of the upper crust, a group referred to as the ‘silver spoons’. It is a high income residential area that mostly consists of full title properties taking the form of larger family homes with an average selling price of just under R7 million. Sectional titles are available at an average price of around R2.5 million. The town offers a preparatory, primary and high school along with a library, various sport clubs and world class restaurants and tourist attractions,” explains Jacques.

“Despite the economic downturn Leapfrog has grown with leaps and bounds, defying all odds to currently rank as one of the top 10 property groups in the country in just under three short years. It is largely the result of a revolutionary business model that takes property out of the box with a young and fresh brand identity and ethos. It allows for a professional environment that lends itself to an incredible work ethic in which property agents can take their ability to the next level, but also know they are backed by a solid support system with long-term financial security for agents.

“Leapfrog is definitely not your average estate agent and we envision ourselves portraying a prominent role in the Camps Bay property market, bringing a young new energy to our area. Camps Bay has always been a passion for both myself and Cathryn and we are ecstatic at the opportunity we have to match the needs of a prospective property investor with a suitable property,” says Jacques. “By all accounts, South Africa’s residential property outlook is looking decidedly more positive with a number of factors culminating to inject renewed confidence in the market, bringing a steadily growing number of qualified buyers entering the market as well as the return of the property investor.”
